Winter Warriors to Hit the Road Beginning January 4th
Since January 2008 and each subsequent January local motorcyclists have been gearing up and heading to Warren Harley-Davidson. Braving the elements for a chance to become the “Winter Warrior” and claim the warriors’ helmet for the year as well as shopping sprees for the top three riders. Beginning on January 4th riders can enter at Warren Harley-Davidson and have the temperature recorded along with how many times they have made the trip. Winners are determined by random drawing from all participants and special awards are given to riders’ coldest temperature at arrival most visits and all participants receive a commemorative t-shirt and are invited to an awards ceremony in February after the results are tabulated. Besides breaking the winter doldrums, riders can accept pledges from sponsors to raise money for Greater Cleveland Fisher House, best known for providing a network of homes to families of veterans and military personnel at no cost nearby while they receive treatment.
Riders can participate by riding to Warren Harley-Davidson during normal business hours or at Longboyz Tavern in Champion, Ohio and Quaker Steak and Lube in Cortland, Ohio from noon to 5:00 on Saturdays and Sundays.
Warren Harley-Davidson Sales, Inc. is a small, locally owned, family business operated by Doris Metzenroth along with daughters Pam Schaffer and Paula Montgomery. Serving the motorcycling community since 1969 Warren Harley-Davidson supports many charitable organizations in the Mahoning Valley and has been active in motorcycle racing since its inception, including five national drag racing championships in the “Outlaw Street” division.
